McNary Dam – Control Panels & Consoles U.S. Army Corps of Engineers | McMillen (Prime Contractor)

Fail-Safe Electric provided comprehensive control system solutions for the McNary Dam modernization project on the Columbia River. The $1.26 million scope included design and fabrication of 13 custom control panels and consoles: three operator control consoles (LS1, LS2, LS2BB), four valve control panels, four gate control panels, and two bascule bridge control panels for the north and south spans.

The project also encompassed VFD drive controllers (25HP and 20HP units), field devices including limit switches, encoders, and level transmitters, plus a complete spare parts package featuring PLC chassis, CPU modules, I/O modules, HMIs, managed switches, and programming laptops. All panels were built to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers specifications under Solicitation W912EF23B0011, demonstrating FSE's capability to meet rigorous federal standards for critical infrastructure control systems.
