Fail-Safe Electric engineered and fabricated a modern 40-point alarm monitoring system to replace aging equipment on Starlight Marine's tugboat fleet. The turnkey solution featured PLC-controlled alarm logic with a 12" HMI touchscreen at the main engine room panel and a remote 5.7" HMI display integrated into the pilothouse console for bridge monitoring.

The system design incorporated dual power capability (110VAC ship's power with 24VDC emergency backup), 40 digital inputs for existing alarm sensors, visual alarm indication via rotary beacon, and outputs for existing horn systems. The scope included complete removal of legacy alarm panels, installation of the new system in both engine room and pilothouse locations, wire termination to existing sensors, and full electrical testing and commissioning. This project demonstrated FSE's ability to deliver cost-effective alarm system modernization for commercial vessel operators while minimizing vessel downtime.
